Huhhhhh...never ever thought making CC is this much easy before trying this method....I luvvvv caramel custard. But when ever i ate it at hotels i never thought making caramel custard is this much easy. One day i saw ready to make caramel custard pack at Neelgiris. I was really excited to see this pack so i bought it. But when i made it i was not satisfied by the taste. It was not as good as the CC we eat at hotels. So, i was little disappointed. One day while browsing through some konkani food group, i saw this recipe. Recipe looked easy to me and i thought "let me give it a try". And when i started to prepare it, i felt this is the easiest recipe to prepare CC. And when i taste it, believe me the taste was much more better than hotel ones. (I got this yummilicious recipe from my gorgeous FB friend Aruna Pai. ).
INGREDIENTS:-
sugar for caramel coating - 2 tbl sp
eggs - 4
vanilla essence - 1 tsp
cold milk - 1/2 cup
milkmaid - 400 gms
METHOD:-
1. For caramel coating :- heat 2tbl sp sugar and 2 tsp water in a mould on high flame till the sugar melts and caramelised to golden brown keep aside to cool. ( what i did is i kept the mixture ready and at the last moment i caramelised sugar in a small heavy bottomed pan and i pour it into that vessel in which i am going to cook CC and i poured the ready mixture upon that ).
2. Break the eggs & mix well. Add vanilla essence +cold milk+ milkmaid & mix well.
3. Pour the mixer in a caramelised mould. Steam in a pressure cooker for 20 mins.
4. Now remove the mould carefully & keep aside to cool & then chill in the refrigerator for 1-2 hrs.
5. SERVE:-Place a plate over the caramel custard mould & turn over on to the plate caramel side.
HAPPY COOKING :))))))
