This is my version of Mangalore buns. Usually every ones adds butter milk/yogurt to the buns. But i don't. Instead of buttermilk i use more bananas. & as i am running out of maida, i used 1/2 portion maida+1/2 portion wheat flour to make buns. Luckily it tasted good.
INGREDIENTS:-
Maida - 1 cup
Wheat flour - 1 cup
sugar - 4 tbl sp
salt - 1/4 tsp
cooking soda - 1/2 tsp
ripe bananas - 4 big(rasabaale) + 2 small(futbaale)
oil - 2 tblsp
oil for deep frying
METHOD:-
1. Make banana puree using mixture.
2. Dilute sugar+salt+cooking soda in this puree & mix well.
3. Now add maida+wheat flour & knead it like chapathi dough.
4. If you find it sticky, add 1 or 2tbl sp oil to it.
5. Cover it & leave it for 4 hrs.
6. Make small balls from this dough. Roll them into puris & then deep fry it.
