I can call this as my signature dish coz it is liked by everyone. And i used healthy vegetables like beetroot & potatoes here. Btw, please compare it with the world famous Hotel Diana cutlets. Because it stands no where in front of Diana cutlets :D But i must say this is a yummilicious & healthy snack. You can eat it with tomato ketch up or GREEN CHUTNEY or you can have it with both like Diana serves it. Actually cutlets, samosas are my moms specials. really nobody can beat her in her special recipes <3
INGREDIENTS:-
potatoes - 3/4 kg
beetroot - 1/2 kg
grean peas, fresh/frozen - 1/2 cup
garam masala powder - 1 tsp
garlic cloves - 10
salt to taste
semolina/sooji rava - as needed
oil - as needed
METHOD:-
1. Peel & grate beetroots. Cook potatoes in pressure cooker. Cook green peas separately directly on flame as it cooks fast. Smash garlic cloves.
2. In a nonstick kadai, add grated beetroots & fry for 2-3 mins.
3. Now add garam masala pow+smashed garlic & mix well & fry it on medium heat stirring continuously till water in beetroot is absorbed.
4. Switch off the stove & let it cool.
5. Remove the skin of potatoes, mash it & keep it aside.
6. Discard extra water from cooked peas.
7. Now mix beetroot mixture+mashed potatoes+cooked green peas+salt to taste & mix well.
8. Now take semolina in a plate, take a small ball of the mixture & give oval shape to it. Roll it on semolina& keep it aside. Repeat the same procedure for other balls too.
9. Heat a non stick tawa & drizzle oil on it.
10. Now arrange these semolina coated mixture on the non stick tawa & put oil all over it & close it with a lid (shallow fry it on medium heat).
11. When semolina turns brown, turn it on other side & put oil over the nonstick tawa( Now don't close it with a lid).
12. When semolina turns brown on other side too. then take them from tawa & arrange them on a serving plate.
13. Serve them hot with sauce/chutney or both.
