SHAHI TUKDA....it is a popular dessert from Hyderabad. Bread is the main ingredient in this dessert. Very easy to prepare & very very tasty too. A must try one.
INGREDIENTS:-
bread slices - 8 (cut the edges out & cut diagonally)
ghee - 4 tsp
milk - 1 litre
sugar - 1 cup
cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
kishmish - 1 tbsp (optional) (i skipped this)
chopped almonds & kesar strands for garnishing
METHOD:-
1. Heat the milk & add sugar stirring continuously.
2. Put 1 tbsp of ghee to prevent the milk from flowing over.
3. Reduce the milk for half of its quantity.
4. Cool the milk. Your milk piesh is ready.
5. Add the kishmish(optional) & cardamom powder.
6. Fry bread pieces in ghee until golden brown. Dip in milk for 2 minutes.
7. Cut the bread pieces diagonally.
8. In a serving plate arrange these bread pieces & pour the milk(cooled) piesh upon it.
9. Garnish it with chopped almonds & kesar strands.
8. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
