PANEER KORMA !!!!!


I adopted this recipe from TASTY INDIAN RECIPES. Goes well with rotis.

Ingredients:

  • 200 gms paneer (grated)
  • 2 onions chopped
  • 4 tomatoes chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp fresh green chillies paste
  • 1/4 cup coconut (grated)
  • 5-6 Cashew nuts
  • 1/2 tsp poppy seeds (khus-khus)
  • 1 cup fresh cream
  • 1 tsp ghee
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp kasoori methi
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • Cilantro chopped
  • Salt to taste.

How to make Paneer Korma:

  1. Grind grated coconut, cashew nuts, poppy seeds with 1/4 cup of water, make a smooth paste and keep aside.
  2. Heat clarified butter(ghee) in a pan.
  3. Add green chillies and ginger paste, saute well.
  4. Add chopped onions, cook for 2 minutes until onion start to look transparent in color.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes, salt, red chilli powder and turmeric powder.
  6. Cook on low flame approximately for 5 to 7 minutes.
  7. Add grated paneer, mix well.
  8. Add coriander powder and garam masala powder.
  9. Keep stirring all the ingredients well with the grated paneer so that paneer acquires all the spices.
  10. Add ground coconut paste and mix thoroughly.
  11. Add fresh cream.
  12. simmer for 2 minutes.
  13. Add kasoori methi and cook korma gravy for 2 more minutes.
  14. Remove from the flame and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  15. Serve hot with chapati, naan or kulcha.

BUNS - 2 !!!


Ingredients:                                                             

 Whole wheat flour-1 cup
Maida- as needed
Cooking soda-1/2 tsp
Salt-1/2 tsp
Sugar-6 tbsp
Futbaale(small banana) - 12
oil - for frying



METHOD:-

1. Peel bananas & make a paste of it in mixer.
2. Take this banana paste in a wide bowl & dissolve sugar+salt+cooking soda in this.
3. First add wheat flour & knead well.
4. Now add maida as much needed to make a soft dough. (i think its 1/2 to 1 cup)
5. Please take care that dough is not too watery nor too hard.
6. Now make lemon size balls from this dough & roll them into thick & small chapathis.
7. Heat oil & slide the buns into hot oil & fry both the sides until golden brown.
8. Serve hot.

CHOCOLATE HALWA , CHOCOLATE SHEERA !!!!


I adopted this recipe from JAGRATHI'S COOKING ODYSSEY. 


INGREDIENTS:-

  • 1 cup Semolina fine
  • 1/2 cup cocoa      powder
  • 1/4 cup chocolate pieces (any) ( i used chocolate syrup here)
  • 1/2 cup ghee
  • 2 cup milk(any)
  • 1/2 cup sugar


METHOD:-


1. Heat the milk and leave a side. 
2. In a heavy bottom kadai(Pan) heat the ghee and add semolina, roast on a low heat until roasting aroma comes or turns in to golden colour.(10-12 minutes). 
3. Now add milk ans mix well.
4. Add sugar, coco powder and let it cook.  When starts to thicken again add chocolate and let it melt.  OR
Add sugar+cocoa powder+chocolate syrup & mix well.
5. Mix everything and become one mass, switch of the heat. 
6. In a greased tray evenly spread the mixture.  Let it cool slightly and cut into diamond or square shape.  Sprinkle some icing sugar if you wish...  Ready to serve...You don't have to spread, you can have it just in a bowl hot or cold.

NAVY BEANS/WHITE BEANS CURRY !!!!


My today's recipe is from the blog CHARU'S CUISINE. There she used soya beans & here i used navy beans (THINGALAVARE) for this curry. & i used tamarind instead of tomatoes here as i am running out of tomatoes. Goes well with rotis.

 Ingredients
  • Soyabeans/Navy beans - 1 cup
  • Cooking oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin (jeera) seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • 1 string of curry leaves
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped coriander leaves - 1 tablespoon

  • TO GRIND
  • Onions - 2 nos (medium size)
  • Tomatoes - 2 nos (medium size) or tamarind(big chana size)
  • Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
  • Garlic cloves - 10 to 12 nos


Method

Step 1
HOW TO MAKE SOYABEANS CURRY RECIPE Wash and soak soyabeans with sufficient water overnight. Next day, add salt and pressure cook soyabeans upto 4 whistles. Once the pressure is cooled down, drain the water and keep it aside.
Step 2
Grind onions, tomatoes, coconut and garlic cloves with little water to make a soft paste. Keep the ground mixture aside.
Step 3
Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds. Once the seeds start spluttering, add cumin seeds and saute till it changes the colour.
Step 4
Add asafoetida, curry leaves, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and stir fry for few seconds on a low flame.
Step 5
Add ground mixture and mix well. Add little water and bring it to a medium consistency. Cook on a medium flame for 5 minutes till the raw smell goes away.
Step 6
Add boiled soyabeans and mix well. Cook for 5 to 6 minutes on a medium flame stirring in between. Adjust the water to bring to medium consistency.
Step 7
Add garam masala and mix well. Cook for a minute and switch off the flame.
Step 8
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
